Sweetiepies Chicken and Fish Fry
Sweetiepies Chicken and Fish Fry opened in 2012 as a carryout restaurant with limited seating, specializing in chicken and fish, along with sides like French fries, okra, and sweet potato fries. It was particularly known for its fried livers and gizzards. Located in the Oak Hill-Jackson community of Cedar Rapids, Iowa—a diverse and historic area near the African American Museum of Iowa—the restaurant served the local community until its closure in 2015. Now, it will be the first establishment reopened by ISFC, reviving the beloved flavors that made it a favorite in the area.
Iowa Soul Food Market
In late 2012, we opened the Iowa Soul Food Market as one of the first vendors in the newly established Newbo City Market. Our cafeteria-style restaurant featured weekly specials of beef, pork, and poultry, along with a choice of six sides. Committed to healthy dining, we offered no fried foods—only baked and rotisserie options. Iowa Soul Food Market quickly became a beloved spot in the community, serving delicious meals until its closure in late 2014. We take pride in the flavors and experience we brought to the market during our time there.
Sugapeach Chicken & Fish Fry

Sugapeach Express was launched to replicate the Sweetiepies Chicken & Fish Fry experience on DoorDash, Grubhub and UberEats. We serve the same delicious fish and chicken you love but have limited the sides to ensure a hot meal upon arrival. While we couldn't bring back livers and gizzards, we’ve included many of your other favorites. For those wanting more options, the full menu is available on our main website, sugapeach.com.
